"Fashion is something you attach to yourself, put on, and through that interaction the meaning of it is born. Without the wearing of it, it has no meaning, unlike a piece of art. It is fashion because people want to buy it now, because they want to wear it now, today. Fashion is only the right now."
-Rei Kawakubo
As a designer, I have always held purpose, timing, and expression in high regard. Fashion reflects the complex interaction of social, political, emotional, cultural, and psychological expression. And I treat every design challenge with the utmost care, critical thought, and discipline to understand the multitude of layers that make up what we wear on our bodies to problem solve the creative process of identity and expression. "What we wear" is meaningless without the "why we wear" portion, and through my work I hope to bridge that understanding with every stitch, every shade of color, every silhouette, and every second I put into it.
Graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design at Otis College of Art and Design, I've had my work showcased at Neiman Marcus on Rodeo Drive. My design background and experiences focuses on menswear (Guess, Band of Outsiders, and Nike to name a few), but I have also worked on and enjoyed womenswear as well (Pacsun, Thomas Wylde, Dutch/Equipment). I am proficient with years of experience on Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop as well as hand sketching and technical skills and responsibilities that encompass producing a line from concept to stores.
